'ASL spelling' was my very first venture into Hypercard. I made it nearly 2 1/2 years ago, and it was dedicated to Koko the 'talking' gorilla. I uploaded it to AOL and it asked for a $10 donation to go to the Gorilla foundation. Today, I see it has been downloaded 39 times, taking into consideration it takes a whole hour to download that's a pretty good number. I also mailed it out to various people who heard of it on Prodigy. Some were hearing impaired, and distributed to their schools and other friends. Soon after that, I started my next ambitious project (one that would put some money in my pocket!) KARATEstack!
After a month of intense labour, I got frustrated at the animation process, just too many pictures to draw and I gave it up and it went on the shelf, collecting dust. Then, about 2 months ago (2 years later), I picked it up and was determined to finish it off. You see, I was unemployed and bored, and needed something to keep me busy... by the way, I'm a draftsman by trade, not an artist, but I think I did a good job. I spent an average of 18 hours per day, many sleepless nights, I was so addicted and absorbed, I'm now sure it totals 500 hours in man hours!!!
Today I'm proud of it! And I can safely say that it is the only product of its type, on ANY computer!
Now I better concentrate on getting a real job!
